Wedding dress trends 2024
- Cape: in 2024, the wedding cape will be a “must have” accessory. There are those who proposed it with a hood, with a somewhat fairy-tale style, there are those who made it worn as a jacket, those with long sleeves and those who incorporated it directly to the dress. This accessory can be used in both summer and winter. It can be an alternative solution to the classic train incorporated into the dress or the classic veil as it facilitates movement.
- mix of fabrics: lace, both structured macramé and embroidered embellished with crystals and beads; mikado with or without sparkling inlays; fabrics entirely covered with sequins with an iridescent effect; bling bling fabrics. One will be spoiled for choice starting from the material of the dress.
- Extra-volume sleeves: they have been talked about since 2023 and next year will be the confirmation. In addition to giving character to the bride thanks to the play of volumes and transparencies that are created on the arms, they are also a versatile accessory since many of the sleeves, are removable, so they can only be worn at certain times of the day.
- Transformable dresses: we are talking about the dual dresses. Due to their practicality, they allow you to change your look without having to buy 2 dresses. Besides being an original choice, it is also a way to reduce the expense. In this way, the bride can make the dress change by adding or removing the skirt/ train to her liking.
- Short in front long in back: asymmetrical dresses, that is, short to show legs in front, long with train in back. A style choice for less traditionalist weddings. This type of dress makes it possible for the bride to impress her guests without giving up the freedom of movement that many dresses unfortunately fail to provide.
- Front slit, while 2023 was the year of the side slit, in 2024 the side slit takes space. Front slits look great on dresses with more tapered lines as well as on models with A-line or flowing skirts. They are ideal for enhancing those with slender and tapered legs, but in case this slit is chosen, great attention should be paid to the choice of shoes that will become the co-star of the outfit.
Barcelona Bridal & Fashion Awards
This year’s edition of the Barcelona Bridal & Fashion Awards, a special recognition aimed at rewarding talent, creativity and excellence in the bridal and formal fashion industry, was held for the first time.
